There are no fees for our Fee Free and Teen Checking accounts. The Cruisin 55 Checking account is free unless your balance falls below the minimum balance requirement of $500. If the account falls below this level, you will be assessed a $5.00 monthly service fee.
The Fee Free Checking does not have a minimum balance. The Teen checking account requires a minimum balance of $100 in your savings account to cover any overdrafts. Cruisin 55 checking has a minimum balance requirement of $500.
Courtesy Pay is an overdraft protection services that Millstream Area Credit Union offers for all checking accounts. We will pay items up to a $500 negative balance to help you avoid the embarrassment of bounced checks and returned check fees.

You may reset the ATM PIN at the ATM if you know the current PIN by selecting additional functions on the main screen. If you do not know the PIN you must contact the credit union to have it reset.
You should always push credit when using your check card to pay for transactions. By pushing credit you have the added security of the VISA network and you also protect your PIN from being stolen.
Yes, you can use your check card at non-Millstream ATMs. Millstream participates in the Alliance One and MoneyPass free ATM networks. Please be aware that the credit union charges $1 for foreign ATM transactions. The ATMs will not charge you but you will still receive a $1 fee from the credit union.

No, you cannot borrow money from your IRA.
This depends on a number of things such as your age, the type of IRA, and IRS IRA regulations. Currently Roth IRAs may begin distributions at the age of 59 ½ or if they’ve met the five year rule. Traditional IRAs may begin distributions at the age of 59 ½, but must at least take yearly distributions at the age of 70 ½. For specific details in regards to your MACU IRA, please contact the credit union. If your IRA is not currently at Millstream, please contact a financial planner or tax advisor.
Educational IRA funds must be used for educational expenses or they are considered taxable income and are subject to penalties. Qualifying expenses include tuition, books, fees, supplies, etc. All distributions must be made by the time the beneficiary turns 30 years old. If the funds have not been used by this time, the account may be rolled over to another child in the same family.
An IRA savings account pays a lower percentage of interest, but funds are not tied into a long-term investment.

Both students and parents can apply for student loans. The loan option for students is the Federal Stafford Loan. With this loan students have a grace period while they are in college and do not have to start paying back the loan until they graduate. The loan option for parents is the PLUS Loan. This loan allows parents to borrow to help their student pay for college, but they must start making payments on the loan immediately with no grace period.
Share secured loans allow you to use your savings as collateral for your loan. You’ll continue earning interest on your savings while receiving a low loan rate.
The allowable amount is dependent upon the amount you have in savings. You may use all but the $5.00 required savings balance as collateral. We also offer share certificate secured loans, which allow you to borrow up to 80% of the certificate’s value.

In order to use Millstream Area Credit Union’s Web Bill Pay Service you must have online banking access and an active checking account. Once logged in to online banking you will see the word “bills” in the navigation pane on the left hand side of the screen. Clicking on this word will automatically start the enrollment process for Web Bill Pay.
At the top of the Web Bill Pay page is a row of options. Click on the option which says “Add a Bill.” Follow the next steps through the process of adding a bill by answering the questions as completely as possible.
Because our Web Bill Pay Service is so versatile you may schedule payments different ways. Before scheduling any payments you must “Add a Bill” to your web bill pay. Once the bill is added, you may click on the box next to the biller name from the Payment Center screen and then select a date to pay said item. This option is a one time bill payment. If you would like to schedule a recurring payment then you must click on “Manage My Bill,” select the biller from the drop down options and follow the steps.

You need not enter Web Bill Pay to setup automatic transfers between Millstream Area Credit Union Accounts. From your online banking Summary Screen you will see the words “Move $” to the left in the navigation pane, click on it. From there you will click on “Simple Transfer” and a screen comes up to ask where you are transferring from and where you’d like to transfer to, as well as the amount. Below the box to select an amount are the words “Now” and “Later” with radial buttons in front of them. Choose the later button and select when you would like the transfers to begin and at what frequency you would like them to happen.
No, you cannot use Web Bill Pay to pay bills out of your savings account. You may pay some bills out of your savings account if you provide the company with your account number and routing number. The Federal Regulation, Monetary Reserve and Account Terms, better known as Regulation D, defines various accounts and sets limitations on transfers and withdrawals from certain accounts. Due to this regulation you are only allowed to have three payments to a third party transferred from your savings account in any given month. It depends on when you set the payments up to pay and whether or not the company you are paying has a relationship with our Web Bill Pay provider, PSCU, and if they can send it electronically or if they must draft a check. PSCU currently has a 100% guarantee that payments submitted for payment on or before the due date will be paid on or before the due date.
You may view your bill history within Web Bill Pay. Click on Bill History at the top of the page. Select which view you’d like (ie. Past 30 days, past 60 days, etc.) from the drop down options. You may also select what information you want to see and which biller you are looking for in the additional options box. The bill history will be listed below. To see if the item has cleared your account yet you should look at the account history within your online banking.
